Ramadan In Morocco

WHat is Ramadan ?
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Every day during this month, Muslims around the world spend the daylight hours in a complete fast,is the month where the Holy book Quran was first sent down to the Prophet Mohammad (Salla llahu Alayhi Wa Sallam).
During Ramadan month Muslims all around the world must fast. fasting means involves abstaining from food, drink, sexual relations, smoking and other vices between sunrise and sunset, the ramadan moving slowly backwards each year.
Normally, the Islamic / Hijri calendar is found to be 10-12 days shorter than Gregorian calendar because of lunar cycles. So, it has been estimated that Ramadan 2015 begins on Thursday, June 18 2015 finish on 18th July .

The end of the month of Ramadan marks Eid al-Fitr, one of the most celebrated holidays in the Muslim World.


Morocco Tourism in Ramadan:

It is possible to visit Morocco during Ramadan, but we explain clients to understand that service may not be as good when people are hungry and thirsty. In our experience it is an interesting time to visit, but it should be noted that:
Some restaurants are closed for lunch and things generally slow down.
apply to non–Muslims but it is respectful to refrain from eating, drinking or smoking in public during the fast.
